Kisses of a Vampire

Chapter 1: A New Beginning
The partys, lights, and home, fading out of sight. The life I had come to know in Las Angles is gone, everything that i worked up there is no more. Even though i had absolutly NO freinds there. Now I have to go to a stupid town called Bloodston, I like the name, but not the fact that, by what I heard, its all gray. Dont get me wrong, i like gray, but, considering the fact that im a “artist" as my mom calls me, im the kind of person that LOVES black, but just barely , just barely, like all of the colors of the color wheel EXCEPT yellow.
The bus ride was long, and definetly not worth it. Now I can see the town coming up along the horizon, doesnt look that big from here, partly because the Ecat bus keeps shaking which is really getting me nauseated. Well actually, that is metaphorically speaking, considering the fact that, ever since I was thirteen, I am a vampire. Shocker! "When Darkness is all you see, this is our Sweet Blasphemy!" Andy Sixx sung, the bass blaring from my Ipod Touch. I would so totally fit into his band, Black Veil Brides, because im gothic.
"Shut up Jeffery." I said to my little brother. "God, when you're quiet, you sound better."
"Raven, do not take it out on you're little brother because you dont want to move!" My Mom scolded.
"What eva, mom. Why are we moving and why couldnt we have taken an airplane, or even ride in our car?"
"Number one, young lady," my dad said." You are not to talk to you're mother like that. Number two, we are moving because you're mother and I want our kids to have a tast of our childhood. Number three, Bloodston doesn't have an airport. And last but not least, you know how we are about saving fuel and the ecosystem!" He said as a matter of fact tone.
"Dont be too hard on her, she just misses her friends and grandma!" Mom told him.
"What friends?" Jeff asked sarcastically. " More like boyfriend. You miss kissing him? Mwahh!" he mimicked a kiss.
"Yeah, the lil' bro here does have a point, except for the boyfriend part." I pointed out, then slapped him.
"Ha ha ha ha! God, this is better than Family Guy!" A teenage guy sitting next to me exclaimed, referring to the T.V show.
"Excuse me?" My father said.
"Yeah, hearing yall bicker like that is making this funnier than Family Guy! And That is, like, a really funny show!"
Ok then. Well that is really wierd. The silence lasted for about five minutes and nothing interrupted it except the roar of the engine. Finally i broke it.
" Hi, my name is Raven!"
"My name is Greg. Nice to meet you!"
"Nice to meet you! Is Bloodston gonna be you're stop?"
"Yes. What about you?"
Yes, as a matter of fact it is. How old are you?"
"Sixteen. You?"
"Same here. So are you gonna be going to the high school?"
"Yup!" He said with so much enthusiasm that the whole bus jumped.
"No shouting!" The bus driver, Teddy, yelled, contradicting himself.
As the town became nearer, I could make out the shapes of the buildings, tall though not as tall as the ones inL.A. Just thinking of it made me furious, just wanting to punch my parents in the face. That’s one of the bad things about me being a vampire. I have bipolar, very deadly. So had to keep to myself, just so that I wouldn't harm anyone. Its really torture, but really, I never had friends ever since kindergarten when i bit a girl. I didn’t know better because I was only five. What can you expect?
So three years passed by, me not even saying a peep. That is until lil' Jeffrey boy came along. I pretty much look the same as I did when i was reborn, but after all of the movies and books I read, they all said that vampires don’t grow old. But that didn’t stop me from growing a few inches. So now I’m five foot five inches.
Nightmares have been haunting me, the face now blurry though. It was a guy about sixteen or seventeen, even if I don’t remember what his face looked like, I remember that he was kinda cute.
"Sweety? Sweety?" Mom's voice interrupted my thoughts.
"Huh? What? Sorry."
" I was saying that since you, quote ' Yeah the lil' bro does have a point, except for the boyfriend part ' then you need to get some friends!"
"I'll try, but I’m not promising anything."
"What about Greg?" Jeffrey asked.
"Wellll, I guess. If it’s alright with you."
"Sure!" Greg exclaimed.
While I was thinking, we had pulled right into the outer limits of Bloodston. It was our stop so I jumped of the three steps, that is three feet off the ground. I breathed in the fresh, crisp, cold air, happy that I am finally out of that cramped space. The smell of blood unbearable from all of the people trying to keep warm.
So this is hell.

I breathed in the fresh, crisp, cold air, happy that I am finally out of that cramped space. The smell of blood unbearable from all of the people trying to keep warm.
So this is hell.
After all of the excitement from a guy who needs some Riddelin, we make our way to our new home. Maple and Howard street intercepted through each other, each way exactly on North, South, East And West. We headed west on Howard and came across a store. It had a big broken neon sign that looked like it use to be green. The twisted tubes spelled:
Aunt Jems Shoes And Clothes
Along its sides were two darkened alleys. Rustling in the one on the left was two shadows. One was holding a cylinder like object, while the other had a thin sheet of something that looked like paper. I stopped and stared while the figure pressed on the cylinder and a substance came out and I immediately figured that it was a spray can. Suddenly, they looked my way. I gasped and kept walking, they followed me and I ran into the store. The two only windows loomed above me. The light weathered bricks surrounded the two by five foot windows.
"Sweety? Sweety, where are you going?" My mother’s anxious voice called after me.
"Um. Uh, I just want to check this place out. You know, see if they have my kind of clothes." I muttered nervously. “I’ll only be a few minutes."
The smell of primroses greeted me when we walked in the store. Mahogany stained cases lined all four walls, each filled with Nikes, Nss's, Op's, and other shoes I didn’t recognize. On racks placed in aisles were Polo shirts, ranging from red to sky blue to yellow. No black, I thought. This sucks.

My mom grabbed my hand and led me outside in the cool damp air. I checked down the allyway for the dudes, but they where nowhere to be seen. The grafiti had something new writin at the bottom:
Hey Raven, we know who you are. And we definatly know
that you are hot. So, you want to go out?
James And Timmy.
Hmmmmmm. I thought. Lets see, two desperate guys and one gothic girl. I think I should write some fucked up shit. Yeah. That will get them!
A spray can rolled out from the shadows. I grabbed it and underneath Jimmy and Timmy, I wrote:
Um, no. Dudes. I dont even know you or even heard of you.
So, pervs, i'd rather go out with somebody I know. Nice Talkin
to yah though! :)
One word. Burn.
I walked back down the allyway and back into the twilight of the setting sun. We hurried our pace so that we could make it home after dark. As we passes Chimes Way the little slit of sun was just barely showing the houses that lined the streets. When we finally hit Maple and Howard Street, the sun was gone but left behind the hues of orange and pink.
My thoughts went haywire going everywhere. Since only my brain could do that because a vampires brain is so big compared to a regular mortal, it didn't give me a headache.
Thoughts like How could they have known who I was even if I havent even heard of them. Or, this is all just so crazy. Im going crazy just thinking about having to start a new life. Its like going to Europe or something except I'll be staying.
Just the thought of it made my eyes water. Knowing that I'll have to start a new life is more than I can take. I have to find new ways to stay away from people and to cope with living in such an ugly town. At least I have my mom. She will help me through this. Hopefully.
Soon our house came in sight. My parents bought it for a hundred thousand dollars. It was a three story victorian style home, complete with five by five windows and a front porch with a swing. The house, naturally, is gray bricks, its color completely gone. The porch is white to match the shutters on the windows and doors. The swing is gray to match the brickes and a Welcome To Bloodston matt was placed in front of the front door. An automatic light goes on as the darkness hits it, showing that, indeed, Its almost time for bed (for some people like my parents).
We crossed the fading black street before any other car came by. As we neared the house, I heard snickering and turned my head to the right, the direction it was coming from. I ignored it and continued walking. When we reached the white porch, I noticed a black envelope on the mat.
Dad ran up the four steps and picked it up. "Its for you, Raven."
I followed after, wondering why I got mail before I even stepped a foot in the house. I carefully opened the black lacey envelope, afraid to rip what ever is inside. in carefully handwritin letters, it said:
Dear Raven Summers,
I hope you will have a wonderful time in this town! My name is Erikson Hexlus and I have a wife named Ausheley Hexlus. We live right down the road from you in the three story gray house. If you have any questions about the town or the any thing else, just come. But to get down to business, upon our understanding, there will be a town meeting. We have matters to discuss and it is a dire need for you and youre family to come. I will explain more when I meet you. Welcome To Bloodston, Miss Summers, a place full of many suprises.
I gave the note to mom and dad and while they read it, I took the spare key that they gave me and opened the front door. The interior was very different from that of at home. The walls where a purplish shade, almost lavender. The couches where white and the carpet and ceiling are white.
A fifty-two inch flat screen tv was testing on the wall with three lavender shelves around it. Two of them where about six feet tall and was on either side of the tv. The third was about four feet tall and was underneath the screen.
Off to my right, I assumed, was the kitchen. In front of me, was a staircase the went winding up the three floors. It had a black carpet that covered only the middle of it. To my left was the livingroom, all I was focused on was getting to pick my room and just sit on my bed all night and listen to Black Veil Brides, but I cant, I have to help unpack.
I took my Ipod Touch out of my pocket, plugged in my earphones and plopped down on the couch. Lips Of An Angel was blaring through my phones when i felt a tap on my shoulder. I took the left out and, still holding on to it, looked up my brother and said "What?"
"Mom wants you," he explained in his shrill voice. "She says to get you're butt in the kitchen and help unpack. Can I, um, Listen?"
I nodded, gave him the Ipod, then got up and went to the white clean room called the kitchen. I walked through the arched doorway that had detailed Begonias on little bushes.

The tile was diamond and snow-white and the corners were cut off to fit in midnight blue squares. The pattern was fitted around an island the color of sandy-white. The pine shelves lined the wall to the right with a stainless steel fridge and on the left was counters with a purple granite top to match the one on top of the island. Two feet off the wall with the counters was a stainless steel whirlpool stove with a matching microwave (and fridge) five feet above it, with two pine cabinets that was on either side. On the back wall was a glass table with four stainless steel chairs and a whole bunch of boxes littered the whole table.
Mom and dad rumaging through them looked up.
" Mm, there you are," mom said, then handed me a bok labled Condements. "Take these and start putting it in the fridge."
I went over and self-consciously started unpacking it, all the while thinking about how much I hate this. When I was done I went over to my parents and mom smiled "Thank you. You can go and pick out you're room so that you can start unpacking." She said then resumed to looking to make shure everything was there.
I huffed and went down the hall then went up twenty-five steps of stairs that looked like it was constructed on the idea of a hospital. The second floor was just three bathrooms and two guest bedrooms. The walls where lavender and the carpet is purple. A single table with yellow daffoldils was at the end of the hall, the only thing that decorated it.
Not going any farther on this floor, I ran up the rest of the plight of stairs. What greated me was....... Will finish once i get on teh computer
